In any new job it is easy to get pulled into your busy role and not have much time to reflect on your leadership development. This can be particularly true in a new organisation or on moving into your first Board level role. You may find it useful to “check in” at around six months into that new role to retain focus on your own leadership development and how your leadership skills and behaviours are perceived by others.
The Healthcare Leadership Model has been developed by the NHS Leadership Academy, working with Korn Ferry Hay Group and colleagues from the Open University to support you in exploring the nine leadership dimensions, and how you might continue to develop your own leadership skills.
To accompany the model there is a Healthcare Leadership Model 360 feedback tool. It is provided via the NHS Leadership Academy and costs around £40.00. Following the use of the tool, you will have a dedicated feedback session with an accredited feedback facilitator to discuss and interpret your report. The report and discussions will enable you to see not only how you rate within each of the Healthcare Leadership Model dimensions, but also how important you and your colleagues feel those dimensions are for your role.
